[Hot Topic] Multiple Electronic Materials Companies Officially Announce Price Hikes Effective July 1

On July 1, the electronic materials industry witnessed a new wave of concentrated price increases. Multiple leading companies in sectors such as electronic glass fabric, copper-clad laminate (CCL), quartz crystals, passive components, and power semiconductors raised product prices on the same day. The breadth and magnitude of these increases are rarely seen in recent years.


Electronic Glass Fabric: Fu Chiao Raises Prices by 30%, Supply-Demand Gap Continues to Widen

Fu Chiao Industrial, a major electronic glass fabric manufacturer, recently issued a formal price increase notice to customers, raising prices on its electronic glass fabric products by 15% to 30% effective July 1. Among these, standard E-glass products for general-purpose PCBs and consumer electronics see a uniform 30% increase; low-dielectric-constant Low DK2 products for AI servers and high-speed/high-frequency boards see a 15% increase. Fu Chiao Industrial stated that the increases are due to the continued rise in fiberglass yarn costs, as well as increases in energy, transportation, and manufacturing-related expenses. The higher increase for standard E-glass compared to high-end Low DK2 reflects differences in supply-demand dynamics between the two product categories: standard E-glass faces a larger supply-demand gap.


Third-party data shows that as of early June 2026, commonly used specifications of electronic glass fabric in the market had already completed their fifth round of price hikes for the year, with average prices reaching 7.4 yuan/meter—a 100% surge from the low point in the third quarter of 2025. Multiple research institutions believe that the tight supply-demand situation for electronic glass fabric is unlikely to ease in the short term. Key constraining factors include: continuously rising demand for high-end electronic glass fabric from AI servers and high-speed/high-frequency boards; top manufacturers reallocating more production capacity to high-end electronic glass fabric, leading to insufficient supply of standard E-glass; and high-end air-jet looms being monopolized by Japanese manufacturers, with delivery lead times extended to 1–2 years and orders already scheduled through 2030.


Copper-Clad Laminate (CCL): Panasonic Raises by 5%–15%, Shengyi Technology's M9 Grade Up Another 25%

The CCL industry is also seeing synchronous price adjustments. Japan's Panasonic issued a price hike notice, raising CCL prices by 5% to 15% and prepreg prices by the same range effective July 1.

Domestic CCL leader Shengyi Technology, effective July 1, has separately increased prices for its M9-grade high-frequency CCL dedicated to NVIDIA's Rubin architecture by 25%, with a 5% price cap discount for long-term contract major clients, and full purchase restrictions for small and medium-sized spot buyers. Standard FR-4 boards have already accumulated an approximate 40% increase year-to-date, with high-end product orders already booked through 2027.


Quartz Crystals, Passive Components, and Semiconductors Follow Suit Across the Board

Leading quartz crystal manufacturer TKD Crystal announced an immediate price increase across its entire series of crystal products, with increases ranging from 10% to 30% per category. New orders take effect from the date of the adjustment notice, and all outstanding orders will be subject to the new prices starting from the shipment date of July 1. Insiders indicated that this is mainly due to ongoing fluctuations in the international situation and global commodity markets, driving significant increases in core raw materials such as bases, lids, targets, silver paste, and gold, silver, and tungsten. Since the start of 2026, 65% black tungsten concentrate prices have risen 125%, with cumulative increases reaching as high as 619% since early 2025.


Passive component leader Yageo notified customers that effective July 1, it will raise prices across its entire capacitor solutions product lines, covering MLCCs, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, tantalum capacitors, polymer aluminum capacitors, film capacitors, and supercapacitors. This marks Yageo's broadest price adjustment in recent years.


In the power semiconductor sector, Yangjie Technology previously announced a 10%–15% price increase across its entire product range, with shipments officially implementing the new prices starting July 1. Siju Integrated also implemented price adjustments of 15%–25% on products in the third quarter.


Industry-Wide Price Hike Spreads Across the Entire Supply Chain

From electronic glass fabric and CCL as upstream PCB core materials, to passive components like quartz crystals and MLCCs, and then to power semiconductors—the July 1 price hikes cover multiple links from basic materials to core components. According to a research report from China Merchants Securities, based on the continued upward trend in raw materials such as fiberglass, copper foil, and CCL, it is expected that all categories of PCBs (including high-end AI server boards) will see uniform price increases of 20%–30% or more in July. Major CCL manufacturers have full order books, with delivery lead times extended to 2–3 months, and price adjustment frequency has increased from bi-weekly to weekly.


The core driver of this round of price hikes is the supply-demand imbalance across the entire industrial chain triggered by the explosion in AI computing power demand. From upstream electronic glass fabric and copper foil, to midstream CCL, and downstream PCBs, cost pressures are being transmitted step by step along the industrial chain. Institutional analysis suggests that upstream material supply has strong constraints, high barriers, and greater pricing elasticity, leading to an enhanced position in the industrial chain and a superior share of profit distribution. Against the backdrop of sustained AI demand growth and constrained production capacity expansion on the supply side, the price hike cycle for electronic materials is far from over.
